Lily believes that the best way to connect to our community, strengthen our family relationship and help boost our mental and physical health is to commit to a shared activity together- volunteering!

In the past ten years, Lily and her group of volunteers dedicate their time to build and empower their community.  They have organized numerous community events and parties annually to bring people together celebrating festivals and multiculturalism. They also lead the youth to visit senior homes and perform for seniors regularly. They have been actively involved in federal, provincial and municipal election campaigns as well. Other programs run by volunteers include Youth Helps Youth, Fitness and Wellness Circle and Grandparents Circle ect.  In 2020, Lily received the Vancouver Quadra’s Hidden Hero Award for her outstanding contribution to the community. 

Lily was an English Instructor at Guangdong University of Technology in China.  She then worked as an Employment Consultant presenting workshops to new immigrants on settlement, job search and life skill topics at S.U.C.C.E.S.S. in Vancouver. She has transitioned into a family relationship and life skill coach at Dolphin Kids and Future Minds Since 2017.  As the Chair of Arbutus Volunteers Association, Lily looks forward to having more and more volunteers joining us and building up a benevolent and inclusive society through volunteerism.
