Welcome to AVA Society

Although our AVA volunteer association, established just last year, comprises core team members with over a decade of volunteering experience together, organizing various charitable activities. We have been organizing our children to perform for seniors at Arbutus Manor since 2014, and actively participating in volunteer activities for schools, communities, and various levels of government campaigns since 2016.

Our mission includes:

- Regularly organizing events to empower the community, foster a strong sense of belonging, and give back to society.

- Enhancing awareness and communication on mental health, healthy lifestyles, and good family relationships through group sharing and lectures.

- Uniting people through holiday celebrations and promoting multiculturalism through shared meals.

- Promoting positive civic consciousness through participation in election activities and public service-related events.

- Supporting families with autistic children and other special needs children through interactive activities.

- Providing settlement assistance for new immigrants through an information-sharing platform.

Over the past year, we've organized the following activities:

- Fitness dance sessions: Weekly, 2 hours each.

- Members' day events: Bi-monthly, 4 hours each.

- Nursing home performances: Bi-monthly, 1 hour each.

- Nursing home visits: Weekly, 1-2 hours each.

We also supported two families with autism children.  With 15 student mentors and 4 mothers, we provide much-needed social platforms and warm companionship for two autistic children.

Through our collective efforts, we've achieved fruitful results, bringing a lot of positive energy to the community and families.
